Health Workers 4 Palestine (HW4P) is a non-partisan collection of healthcare workers, agencies and non-governmental organisations working together to advocate for the people of Gaza, with an aim to end the 16-year siege and blockade on Gaza. They work to amplify the voices of Palestinian health workers, fight for the right of Palestinians to have access to quality healthcare and to preserve the sovereignty of Palestinian healthcare, as an essential component for the liberation of Palestine. HW4P, has been working relentlessly since 7th October to stand in solidarity with Palestinian health workers and the Palestinian people’s right to healthcare. They work across 70 cities globally through education, advocacy and fundraising while raising awareness of the ongoing genocide and increasing violence across the West Bank. Alongside advocacy and lobbying campaigns, they support community focused events and impact projects in Gaza and Cairo. HW4P also fund partners working in Gaza, such as Palestinian Medical Relief Society, who currently have 80 teams in Gaza offering life saving comprehensive primary healthcare with a rights-based approach.
IMET2000’s mission is to upgrade healthcare through the education and training of all professionals working in the healthcare sector worldwide. They work particularly with children suffering physical and mental trauma through extreme economic deprivation, major natural disasters, or military conflict. IMET2000 is working in areas of extreme deprivation and war zones, for example in refugee camps and orphanages in Gaza to provide specialist training for psychiatrists, physicians, surgeons, nurses, allied professionals, and social workers in primary trauma care (especially war wounds and burns), rehabilitation and mental health of children and adolescents. Too many children in Palestine are the innocent victims of conflict. There are many thousands of children suffering the after- effects of severe burns, loss of limbs, and other physical trauma, and many are psychologically damaged and need urgent help. All funds raised at this event will benefit severely traumatized children in Gaza.
The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund supports the children of Gaza, bringing vital medical care to those who need it urgently. They transport critically injured children with their caretakers from Palestine to Lebanon, where they can receive the best possible medical, psychological, and social care, before returning home to Palestine where they will continue their recovery. By treating the children in Lebanon, they not only offer them exceptional care and access to top medical advances, but also help to relieve the medical sector in Gaza & The Occupied Territories and pave the way for a brighter future.
